Dust Control Plan

A Fugitive Dust Control Plan (FDCP) for new construction is a specific site plan designed to avoid or minimize dust generating activities related to construction. The requirement for an FDCP comes from air quality regulatory purposes with the state and local and federal and includes Best Management Practices (BMPs) to avoid/control dust/debris being thrown into the air from grading, excavation, earth moving, use of vehicles and other elements associated with construction.

Tired of using valuable staff time writing Dust Control Plans? Ready to get to work on your jobsite?

Since 2007, Accena SWPPP Services has collaborated with contractors, developers, and excavators to ensure their projects remain compliant. We achieve this by providing expert dust control plans, freeing up their staff to focus on profitable construction tasks instead of unproductive time spent on tasks best left to subcontractors.

What are Dust Control Plans and why should you care?

A Fugitive Dust Control Plan is a plan of action regarding how a construction project will control fugitive dust related to excavation, grading and vehicle traffic. You need to implement an effective FDCP to avoid not only the fines associated with non compliance, but also to avoid your construction site being shut down. Compliance also affects worker health/safety (fugitive dust creates bad particulate matter in the air), equipment maintenance (excess dust can get into equipment rendering it inoperable) and site safety (excessive fugitive dust can obscure visibility on site). Thus, an FDCP will save time and money and increase profitability.
